Taking an international trip is a very exciting experience. Whether it’s your first international trip or your fiftieth, there is always something intriguing about visiting a place that is different from where you live. About eight years ago, I had my first opportunity to visit Germany. Even though I did lots of research on the country, there is such a difference between reading about a place like Germany and actually visiting it. I felt like I learned certain things about the German culture in one day that I probably wouldn’t have learned from reading five different books on Germany.

However, I was definitely glad that I took the time to do some research about traveling to Germany. One of the best tips that I picked up from my reading was about car rental in Germany. I actually wasn’t planning on renting a car when I went to Germany, but because every book that I read recommended it, I decided it was something that I should do. Looking back on my trip, I’m happy that I did, because it gave me the freedom to easily visit any place that piqued my interest.
