I’ve Earned My Trip to Germany

It’s weird to say this out loud, but I am currently in the last semester of my college career (actually, I plan on eventually getting a Master’s degree, but that experience will be completely different than my undergraduate experience). The reason that it’s so strange to actually say that fact out loud is because college has been my life for just under the last four years, so it’s going to be a complete change of pace once that comes to an end in just a few months.

Even though I’m going to miss the college lifestyle, I am excited about the next stage in my life. I have received job offers from several different companies, so I’m at the point now where I know I will have a job (I just need to decide where I want to live).

Although I will be done with school in May, I won’t start working until July. The reason for this is because my parents’ graduation present to me is an entire month (June) in Germany. I am fairly good at speaking German, so I’m very excited about getting to spend an entire month exploring the culture that Germany has to offer!

I Love Getting a Month Off from School

Although I can honestly say that I love everything about college and the lifestyle that goes along with it, one of my favorite things about being in school is getting a full month off for winter break. While the average adult only gets a handful of days off for Christmas and the New Year, when you are a college student like me, you get to do whatever you want for a full month. Now, I don’t know when the last time was that you had an entire month off, but if you need a reminder, I can tell you that it feels like an extremely long amount of time.

Because of this, I always try to plan something really fun for winter break. I have done something different every year, and this year I ended up going to Germany for a week and a half during the middle of my break. That may sound like a really extravagant trip, but the reason that I chose to take this trip was because I found a great Germany travel package (which included my flight, hotel and even rental car) online.

I’m Still Amazed I’m Getting to Go to Germany

It’s still going to be about three months, but when that time comes around, I am going to be heading off to Germany for a full eleven days. It wasn’t that long ago when I found out about this trip, so I am still extremely excited.

The reason that I am getting to take a trip to Germany for eleven days is because I received this trip as a gift from my family on my birthday. My birthday was just a little over a month ago, and leading up to my birthday, my family kept asking me what I wanted for my birthday. I kept telling them that there was nothing I could think of that I honestly wanted, so they could feel free to surprise me. When I told them that they could surprise me, I definitely wasn’t thinking it was going to be with something as amazing as a trip to Germany. However, my family knows how much I love to travel, and when they came across a package deal to Germany (which includes a rental car, flight and hotel room), they decided it would be the perfect gift for me.

I Can’t Wait for the Spring

Even though it is still the winter, I honestly can’t wait for it to be March. The reason that I am so excited for it to be March is because that is the month when I get to go on my Spring Break trip. Although this will be my last year in college, I have never really taken a cool Spring Break trip before (I usually just go somewhere like the lake). However, since it is going to be my last year in college, I decided that I needed to go all out and take a really cool Spring Break trip.

I got together with several of my friends, and after looking at all of our potential options, we collectively decided that the best place we could go for Spring Break would be Germany. We already have our tickets booked (along with reservations for a hotel room and rental car), and our adventure in Germany is going to last for a full six days. This is actually going to be my first time to travel outside of the United States, so I know that I am going to come back with a lot of great stories to tell everyone that I know.
